1950's winner Nino Farina had a disappointing season, coming 4th in the driver's standings, winning only the one race, and losing his place at the top of the F1 Rankings. Taking up his crown was the Argentinian Fangio, winning three of the races, and taking the official crown by 6 points.
New winners this year were Alberto Ascari, Luigi Fagioli, Lee Wallard, and Jose Froilan Gonzalez, with Alberto & Jose pushing Fangio all the way for the official crown.
As for the unofficial crown, Juan Manuel Fangio took the Number One spot at the first race of the season, and took it through the eight races, to be Number One at Spain, in October.
Here was the Top 10 at the end of 1951.
