Mark Webber wins the Driver Of The Month award for November. After his first win of 2011, he ensures that the 2 Australians on the grid win both F1Rankings awards for November.
Mark's November started with a solid drive at Yas Marina. He started and finished in fourth, and through the race he had a race-long battle with Jenson Button. A fastest lap, however, could not help him gain that one place he needed for a podium finish. After a weekend where things didn't quite go his war, his race at Brazil could not have gone better. He produced a near-perfect qualifying time, only to be just pipped to first by team mate Vettel. But, the race went the Aussies way. A gearbox problem for Vettel gifted Webber the lead on lap 17. This left Mark with the easy challenge of maintaining a lead. He easily passed his challenge, and for the doubters, he pushed in three fastest lap times in the final three laps.
His win was enough to boost his ranking points, but not his position. He is still second, but he has gained on third places Lewis Hamilton.
