Climber Of The Month - Daniel Ricciardo

Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo wins the final Climber Of The Month award for 2011. He was the only driver to jump up three places throughout December.

On the track Daniel hasn't had the perfect month. At Abu Dhabi, he failed to finish, as he retired on the 47th lap. It was only his second retirement of his short career. However, it was all doom and gloom for the youngster at UAE. On the Saturday, he easily out-qualified his teammate Liuzzi. His weekend was slightly better at Sao Paulo, Brazil. He was out-qualified by Tonio, but in the race he did finish in 20th.

Throughout December, Daniel has jumped from 36th to 33rd. His gain is partly due to his performances, and partly due to the tightness at the bottom of the rankings. These few months are going to be important for DR. He looks set to still be driving next year, but it a question of whether he will be driving for Toro Rosso, Caterham or HRT?
