Sebastian Vettel - 2011's Number One Ranked Driver
With his great drive at the Singapore Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel has confirmed the Number One Ranking for the end of the season. He can not turn up to any other races, and no matter how well Mark Webber and the other do, they can not topple him for another year. He becomes the first driver to hold the Number 1 Rankings for two consecutive years since Fernando Alonso in 2006 and 2007. With the form that Sebastian is in at time moment, there is also a question of who can stop him making it three on the trot. He already has a healthy lead at the top, so even if he has a so-so 2012, he will still be hard to beat.
Sutil breaks the Top 9
Adrian Sutil has broken into ninth place on the rankings, his highest ever rank. Adrian has been on the grid for a few years now, and has slowly got a few admirers. He has always been with the Force India team, even though he was rumoured to be close to securing a drive for Mercedes, before Schumacher returned to the sport. There are rumours about Adrian now though. With his consistent results, he has caught the eyes of Williams, and there is also rumours that he could be Michael Schumacher's replacement at Mercedes, when he retires again. Adrian might be more interested in the Mercedes drive, as that could take him closer to podiums and race victories, and it could also take him further up the F1 Rankings.
