2011 Abu Dhabi Young Driver Test - Day 2

Jean-Eric Vergne set the fastest lap time for the second consecutive day at Abu Dhabi. He beat Ferrari's Bianchi and McLaren's Paffett, but still went slightly slower than yesterday. However, it wasn't all plain sailing for the Frenchman. A KERS problem meant that he could only set 43 laps, instead of the 91 laps done by Jules Bianchi. Esteban Gutierrez returned to the Sauber car, and HRT had 2 drivers in Jan Charouz and Nathanael Bethon. The surprise of the day was Valtteri Bottas, who got his Williams to go faster than the Mercedes and Renault. Only 949 laps were completed today, but all teams did feature once more.

Jean-Eric has also ran away with the Mock-Drivers Championship. With two wins, he nears an unassailable lead over Jules Bianchi, who stays second. Paffett moves upto third, and Bottas takes fourth. Johnny Cecotto Jnr is today's best newcomer.
