Last Time
In 2010, the race started with rain, and due to that, a safety car. There was 3 laps under the safety car, then the race was stopped, and there was a 40 minute delay. The rain was restarted under the safety car, for another 14 laps. Many of the drivers were saying that the race should be stopped again, but Lewis Hamilton famously said that the track was dry enough for inters. When the Safety Car left, the race seemed to be about one man - Sebastian Vettel. He lead for 45 laps, until a engine blow-up cost him a race win. This was gifted to Fernando Alonso. He took the lead of the Driver's Championship to the last 2 races, while it looked like Red Bull had ruined Sebastian Vettel's chances.
This Time
With the Driver's Championship all wrapped up by Vettel, he said that in the remaining races he will be looking forward to racing without risk. Red Bull seemed to have been caught by McLaren at Japan, and there could be a similar battle this weekend as well. Lewis will want to turn his back on a stressful couple of weeks, while Button will want to build on this great momentum. Ferrari looked so-so at Japan. They benefited from Vettel and Red Bull taking a cautious aproach at Suzuka, put Fernando had great pace at the end as he pushed Button. What is for sure, is that we should have a dry race, unlike last years torrential rain.
